sherisse

Sherisse Lancaster (she/her) is of mixed European descent, originally from Huntington Beach, California, on the traditional lands of the Acjachemen (Juaneño) and Tongva (Gabrielino) peoples, and now based in London, Ontario, on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, Lūnaapéewak, and Attawandaron peoples. She recently earned an Honours Specialization in Anthropology with a Minor in Refugee and Migrant Studies from Western University, and holds an Advanced Diploma in Respiratory Therapy from Fanshawe College. In the Towards Equitable Sustainability Transitions (TEST) Lab, Lancaster’s work bridges the natural and social sciences, collaborating with land-based communities and applying boundary objects within the framework of boundary work. Her aim is to cultivate ethical, transdisciplinary approaches that can guide future lab members in developing sustainable research models. Looking forward, she plans to work with coastal communities in Mexico to safeguard mangroves from destruction by development and tourism, protecting both ecosystems and the livelihoods of those who depend on them.
