Mariana reinach
Mariana Reinach is a Brazilian associate researcher and field technician at the Center for the Study and Promotion of Group Agriculture (Cepagro), where she works with Guarani indigenous communities to strengthen their culture, land management, and food sovereignty. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social sciences from the University of São Paulo, a master’s degree in Social Sciences in Development, Agriculture, and Society from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro, and is currently completing her PhD at the same institution. In her master’s thesis, she critically analyzed the social dimension of agroecology in international discursive debates. In her doctoral research, she is conducting anthropological research on interethnic and racial relations in the struggle for land, territory, and autonomy within the Teia dos Povos of Bahia. Her main research interests lie in collaboration with Indigenous and Quilombola communities, agroecology, social ecology, and insurgent processes of ethnic self-identification and autonomy in Brazil.
