My name is Cristina Gouthro, and I am originally from Grand Bahama, The Bahamas. I am currently pursuing a degree in Geography and Environment, expecting to graduate in 2027. As part of the USRI program, I am hoping to contribute to the lab through conducting background literature reviews that support ongoing research initiatives. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I have developed a growing interest in learning about community based knowledge and the ways it informs approaches to sustainability and climate change. I plan to continue my studies in the field of environment and sustainability. My background as someone from a small island community affected by natural disasters has shaped my interest in climate adaptation and community-based approaches.
